Update time!
Hey you! I know I’ve been MIA for the past few weeks, and I don’t really have any legitimate excuse except for the fact that I’ve been a little busy.
For one, I booked my trip to the Maritimes. I can’t wait! I’ll be traveling for work, which will be a great experience, and then my parents will be meeting me in P.E.I. and staying for a week. We’ll be exploring Nova Scotia and P.E.I., and some sights along the way will include Cape Breton/the Cabot Trail, Peggy’s Cove, Halifax, the Anne of Green Gables house, and more. At the moment I’ve seen a lot of the world but only 3 Canadian provinces. I’ll be making up for that this year because, in addition to that Maritimes trip, I’ll also be heading to Alberta for two weeks. Yay! That will be another trip that mixes work with pleasure, as two of my best friends call Alberta home and I’ll finally get a chance to see them.
I’ve also been working on a photo book that documents my RTW trip, which is harder than it sounds. It’s supposed to be 40 pages, which seems like a lot but really isn’t when you have thousands of photos and hundreds of memories to work with. In the words of Aerosmith, I don’t wanna miss a thannnngggg. I’m also a bit of a perfectionist with stuff like that, so it’s taking a really long time. It’ll be pretty though!
The rest of my time has been taken up by some new interests. First of all, I’ve been cooking, which is both strange and unexpected. I’ve discovered that I really like it though, and your tip of the day is that quinoa is the best food ever (Google it if that sounds like more of a robot than a food to you). It’s so versatile! Also, yummy and nutritious and easy to cook. The trifecta! My version of a trifecta 6 months ago was a hostel with air conditioning, no bed bugs, and a cheap price tag, so I guess you can say my priorities have changed a bit.
Another new interest? Well, I guess it’s not really new so much as renewed. I’ve started running again and I’m hoping to do a 10k this year. I was originally planning on a marathon because I really do go big or go home, but frankly I would almost definitely die if I tried a marathon at any point this year. Next year is definitely an option though!
It’s kind of sad that these blog posts are about 100x more boring than they were a few months ago, but they’ll get better, I promise! I’ll be keeping you up to date about all of my travels this summer, and then September will be a big move that I’m sure I’ll be writing a lot about. I’m not trying to be secretive about it, it’s just that I have no idea what is going to happen yet or when in September that move will happen, but I’ll know in time and you bet I’ll tell you about it.
Today will be another venture into a new interest: golf! I know, I know: “You work at the national sports organization for golf in Canada and you don’t golf?!” No, I don’t. Well, I used to, as I’m the daughter of a complete golf freak, but I’m going to attempt to get back into it. I now know more about many of aspects of the game than my golfing father (almost), so I might as well at least try to put that knowledge into action. Off to the (simulated) course I go!
